- Trail Guides: Make a big deal out of the JPL and let them know they are expected to provide info back to the patrol. Servant leaders
- Give everyone a term as JPL. Try not to allow two terms in a row unless no one steps up.
- Voting ideas for patrol leader, avoiding tenting cliques, gear issues (people will have better and worse stuff - learning how to handle that is important), grubmaster how often.
- Mentoring, guiding
- You're enforcing Safety
- Be approachable for when things go sideways
- Always step in when safety is on the line
- Know your Bible and theology - You will likely mentor adults and be mentored too
