In addition, when passing any wood tool to another, the blade edge should be passed pointing away from the hand (ex. non folding blades, axes).  For our troop, the Trail man receiving the wood tool, should say "Thank you" when they have a grip on the item as an indication to the passer that they have fully received the item.

 

We also call the "Safety Circle" for knives the "Blood Circle."
